Forest Breath

Wandering into the forest and losing yourself into its enchanted depths can be a magical experience. And you can recreate that atmosphere at your wedding by bringing together elements in different shades of green, looking for clean lines and rustic design elements.

Image source: Boutonniere / Bridesmaid / Invitation / Waistcoat / Candles / Flower Band

A color palette that will work with a forest-themed wedding can incorporate greens of varying intensity, beige and browns.

You can set the tone with a very popular design of ours, the greenery watercolor illustrations will fit perfectly into a wedding planned for all nature lovers out there. The foliage designs include leafy garlands, laurels and wreaths.

In the collection you will find every printable you need like invitations, RSVP and wedding enclosures, save the date and thank you cards, menus, programs, table numbers, table top signs, place cards, posters, envelope addressing templates and many more.

Most of the table top printables like place cards and table numbers include tent folded and flat card versions.

One of my personal favorites is the hanging cards seating chart template. You can hang the cards on a cord with clothing pins or arrange them into a framed poster.

You can purchase the DIY templates from the “Lovely Leaves” botanical garden wedding collection at my Etsy shop – Shishko Templates.

Switching to Templett!

As you may know up until now I was offering my wedding templates as editable PDF or MS Word format. Both have their advantages and restrictions but now there is a new, easier way to edit your printables and it is called Templett!

Templett is an online template editor that allows you to fully personalize your template directly in your web browser, no software to install or fonts to download!

It is very intuitive and easy to use and you will be able to change not only the wording, but also edit the artwork and background for the most templates. You can also add a back or additional pages to your template and upload your own images like photos, wedding logos and monograms.

Templett will also give you some useful download and printing options like “Save Paper” or “Single Card” in PDF, JPEG and PNG file formats.

In the last couple of months I was working on switching to Templett and now all of my invitations and cards are already uploaded and available in this new format.

I believe this is the easiest way to edit templates and I hope you’ll agree after trying the Templett web application. And you can sample all of my templates for free before you purchase. Check any item’s details in my Etsy shop Shishko Templates for a free demo link or try this one!

*Please note that the templates can only be edited on a laptop or a desktop computer (Mac or PC) and will not work on tablets or mobile devices.

Happy Editing!

Winter Wonderland

Baby, it’s cold outside, so let’s plan a winter wedding!

Image source: Invitation / Suit / Bridesmaids / Makeup / Ring

Yes, most brides dream of a spring, summer or fall wedding with warm weather and colorful decor, but if you want your big day to really stand out why not plan a cozy and warm winter wedding.

Winter is the most underrated season for weddings but there is nothing more romantic than the true warmth of the cold weather wedding under a blanket of snow. Snowy mountain, forest or a frozen lake is the perfect backdrop and it is there for you without spending a dime.

My choice for a winter wedding palette is crystal inspired colors, warm grays and beige, sparkling snowflakes and silver.

Elegant Navy Wedding

The navy blue color palette is the timeless evergreen for a formal wedding. Navy is an elegant alternative of the classic and more traditional black color.

The first things that your guest will see are your save the date cards and wedding invitations that will set up the tone for your wedding day. Here is a close-up of the Elegant Ironwork templates with light blue and navy ornaments on white background:

The navy blue ornaments and font give a nice contrast to the white background color as will the navy blue suit next to the white wedding dress.

The wedding menu will compliment the rest of your table setting and overall feel of your elegant wedding day.

You can also add place cards and table numbers, wedding signs, gift tags and thank you notes.

My Wedding Day

Two years ago on this day I was getting ready to walk down the isle. I was about to marry the most caring and wonderful man, my best friend and soulmate. (❤ I love you, George! ❤)

My wedding day - the arc

So today I wanted to share with you a couple of moments of my best day ever – my wedding day.

Crisis #1 (First and final, thank God!):
The fit of my wedding dress

When I purchased my dream dress it was 2 sizes bigger and they had to make a lot of changes at the bridal shop in order to fit. I went to two fittings and the dress was still huge the day before the wedding. I had no choice so I took it and drove to my made of honor’s mother who is a perfect sewer. She had her leg broken a couple of days before and she was very stressed having just the afternoon to fix it but she made it and it was perfect! (Thanks, Valеntina, you #singleleggedly saved the day!)

My wedding day - the bride

I am a DIY Bride – I planned the whole wedding by myself and I made a ton of stuff for the decor like tulle bows and textile flowers for the chairs, napkin rings and a cake topper banner.

My wedding day - the seating lists

My wedding day - gifts and cards suitcase

I also made additional silk flowers for the dress and for my hair (5 flowers took me 3 days), seating chart and, of course – the wedding invitations, RSVP cards, directions, tags and stamps for the envelopes.

I even drove myself and my fiance to our wedding venue. (I was so nervous I had to keep my brain occupied with something!)

My wedding - the flower girls

The cutest flower girls (and you can tell who is the boss!)

My wedding day - the weddind bands

We chose the most simple, classic wedding rings.

My wedding day - the flowers

My wedding day - table arrangment

I was so confident in Rumena from Manghee Weddings about the flowers and wedding decor that I fully trusted her and she did not disappoint me. I simply can’t imagine a wedding bouquet more beautiful than this one!

My wedding day - naked cake

The most (seriously!) delicious wedding cake is called “Hazelnut Kiss”. I really love this rustic and natural look of the naked cakes!

My wedding day - the shoes

If you are wondering why there is no groom on the photos, It is not that I hide him – my husband is also the photographer so he was behind the camera for most of the time 🙂

Spring Vines

Springtime is one of my favorite and most romantic seasons. There are no green leaves yet, but everything is in this early stage of flourishing, and so is love. And like the spring, marriage is a new beginning. Celebrate spring and love with brown neutrals, peach and cream colors!

Peacock Wedding Interpretations

I believe you would agree that the peacock is one of the most beautiful and inspiring creatures for a wedding theme. So many colors and textures to choose from, so many ideas!

Keep in mind though that the peacock themed wedding can easily go over the top with so many rich and powerful colors. Unless that’s what you intended – sometimes over the top is gorgeous. Just be careful, keep the level of taste high and please don’t put feathers everywhere you can – this is your wedding, not a zoo!

So one of the ways that you can go with is that decadent, bohemian style without being too literal and obvious. You can combine teal, turquoise, blue and green with gold, brown or purple shades. Here is one color combo that I like:

Here is a closeup of this Indian style paisley invite:

Using almost the same colors, you can go with much lighter, sophisticated and modern decor, still keeping the peacock as the main theme in the details and small accents. Here is my interpretation:
